Re: Interior Woodwork Repair

To get the right stain to match, you might try experimenting on a scrap of the new veneer. Maybe mix two or more different stains and play around. At home sometimes I use shoe polish!

Re: Interior Woodwork Repair

Its not really hard at all. To get the shape right, use a soft crayon and rub the edges with it to build up a layer of colored wax. Lay your vaneer sheet over the section to be repaired. Press around the repair to force the wax onto the back side of the vaneer. Cut with a very sharp pair of scissors ir craft knife to just around the outer edge of the wax line. Fit this piece in, it should be slightly larger then the repair area. Trim away the excess until it fits. Its not hard. Use a straight edge for staight lines. But only if truly straight! (Otherwise it will look weid)

I dont think you need a pro, just patience.

Re: Interior Woodwork Repair

Keep wax away from all surfaces which require gluing.
