Is it Bad Luck to Use Parts from a Recovered Boat ?

A boat sunk in it's slip on my dock. The owner didn't have insurance and abandonded the boat. The marina bagged and floated the boat yesterday. I was told I could take anything off of it I wanted. I am thinking of using the stanchions and stern railing on my boat. You think it could jinx my boat? I'm not superstitious...but I don't want to push my luck either

is all perfectly good. just say a prayer to sea gods that the same doesnt happen to you--- but there isnt a jinx from using parts from once floating boats. and dont forget to thank the gods for the bounty.

What's a jinx, some type of wild jungle cat or something like this? What business does it have being on a boat?

Jinx, from the Latin iynx; wryneck bird from Africa and Eurasia used in ancient and classical times for magic and divination.

it's only bad luck if you salvage the part that sunk the boat.

Nah, Salvage what you want, and then kip a shot of rum over the side for Poseidon in thanks. That's what I do.

Don't salvage any through-hulls.

What kind of wild jungle cat, it must be a CAT A MAR RAN. you know something with 2 holes, no that is 2 hulls.
