Re: Is it customary to tip Project Mgr for refit

Lol, depends on the cost of a case right? In some overpriced/overtaxed /over regulated societies in the world a case of horse piss is rarely under $60.
In the tip crazy US a case of Guiness is way under that.

Re: Is it customary to tip Project Mgr for refit

I was the "key person" on a 2 year rebuild.

At the end, the owner gave me a substantial assortment of gear that he no longer wanted but had real 2nd and value: Whole boat Sunbrella cover, Anchor, Sail rig for dinghy, etc, etc.

I certainly did not expect it.

Re: Is it customary to tip Project Mgr for refit

Tipping in the US has gotten out of hand, with most people paying with credit cards these days. You get to sign on a machine which gives you options to tip....15...20..25% or more...not even sure if the waitstaff sees any of this...
It's become a friggin' racket...leaving some cash on the table has gone the way of the dodo bird...
I see tip jars in a lot of places I never used to see as everyone is trying to get on the bandwagon...

For a “professional” it’s called a “bonus.”
