what do the competitors charge--i would get estimates from all of em, then decide--and check the work done by cruising the dicks to see results

Absolutely! We are hired to fix 2 or 3 boats per year that others have brutally botched (burned gelcoat, machine swirls, concrete hard residue, damaged vinyl striping, insufficient compounding or polishing or waxing,
Etc.

Gelcoat restoration is one of the few "improvements" we recommend before
putting a boat up for sale, where one is likely to get a return on investment.

How much to pay your cleaner? If you are paying someone for simple maintenance that you can do yourself the question is not whether the price is reasonable it is simply a question of if you would rather pay it than spend the time doing it yourself. If you are paying for expertize things are a little different. So I would say that as long as they are paying their staff a reasonable living wage for the area you are in and being responsible with about health and safety and cleaning products it should be fine.
