Hi Jesse

Thanks for the kind offer but we do have our steering helm and pump already.

All I lack is the lines and a few other bits & bobs. I want to run a bypass like Delmarrey did on his so we can steer with a backup tiller. Yes it's starting to come together. We pic up the plywood kit next week! I am getting some jitters though, after almost 7 yrs of planning it's really going to come together soon! What the hell have I gotten myself into!

Standby.....

This is a boat? Don't look like a boat! (Yet!)

Lori and I made the trip to Boston to pick up the kit for the boat this weekend. 1500 kms round trip. We went down in her Puddle Jumper and rented a U-Haul to bring the wood back. Approx. 4000 lbs of it. Next step is the bow shed, I promise.

We also got a complete set of plans (now I can build two boats!), rudder, king post, 3" exhaust tube and the stern tube. I think we made out like bandits!

I found this on Lori's camera. I think it was my "Oh sh*t, WTF have I gotten us into now?" moment!

The first ceremonial stake that'll help support the bow shed has been driven into the ground. No ceremony, no fanfare, no marching bands, just me and a sledge hammer!

Only about 29 more to go!

First order of sticky stuff (epoxy) and fiberglass arrived yesterday! I paid a visit to an Amish gentleman yesterday who custom cuts wood. I've ordered the 20' long lengths of 1X3 strapping for the bow shed from him along with the other lumber I'll need to complete the shed. $420 US which is about half of what it would have cost me to buy locally. Delivery time 2 weeks! Standby......
