On decks, the resin "dams" can fail due to people walking on deck in the affected area. The core goes soft, the deck flexes, the dam breaks, the water spreads and so on.

With neglect, what would and should be an easy fix turns into a major disaster.

To the OP. If the owner of the boat knew of this issue for 5 years and has done nothing to fix it, walk away. He doesn't deserve to sell his boat.

I have walked away, Broker was also not very helpful about this issue and many other questions - Who knows how bad it really is and what else would pop up that he has not been bothered to fix
