Lewmar port light replacement

Hi,

I'm in the process of renewing my Lewmar port lights with new arcylic. The small ones that can be opened went very well In the cabin there are two fixed port lights. I figured out that they are fitted with some Y-shape (plastic) and Sikaflex 295.

The main issue / question is not the material, however the Y-shaped parts are not sold by Lewmar to me, and the profiel in the arcylic is pretty difficult to make with the milling cutter bits I have.

One thought is to mill an angle instead of the curent shape to the acrylic and put Sikaflex on the outside of the window, the part pushed to the aluminium, and put Sikaflex around the acrylic. Because of the milled angle there is a broader part to hold between the acrylic window and the aluminium.

Any other thoughts or suggestion on how can make a thight fix of the window?

Thanks for your help.

Selectplastics.com

Get the phone number and speak to Tony the owner. Bet he can help you. Generous and fair fellow. Replacing glazing in Lewmar hatches their specialty. He likely has what you need or excellent advice. Probably email will work, but my experience is telcom is best. Let us know how it goes.

Tony is the man. Give him a call. He'll be happy to give you advice if he can even if he's not selling you something. By the way, they do extremely good work on hatch reglazing.

Got an email from Tony today
The Y-parts are meant as spacer for the kit and to eas the application of the Sikaflex.
