Lifting my Isuzu

465 lbs 4 cyl 4 yrs old need to lift it to replace a mount. The tag (pic attached) bolted to the engine seems to be for lifting it but there is no mention in the manual of this part at all. Just wondering if I should use this to lift the engine or build a rope/chain sling around the engine instead?

Re: Lifting my Isuzu

Lifting on that alone would surely only raise the front of the motor? If you were removing the motor from a car engine bay maybe that would be the way to go.

Re: Lifting my Isuzu

That is a lifting eye, should be one at each end of the motor. The trick is what do you connect them to?
One idea I saw was to deflate a rubber fender and stuff it under the engine, then reinflate it. Soft and squishy so it won't hurt anything, and has amazing lifting power if you have a good air pump.
