Re: Lightweight, Removable Bug Screens

Update:

Tried Velcro and it didn’t work at all. Luckily I tried it on the screen first so none was applied to the boat.

Falls right off the screen and would require sewing. No thanks!!!

So then I took some 1/8” plywood, cut 3/4” strips from it, and sandwiched the screen in between using Fuze-it adhesive.

I’ll get some of these to hold them in place.

Note: the reason the bottom left bit of the screen frame is so messy is that was my first bead with the new caulking gun. It was pushing a partially dried tube and the dry chuck flew out and sprayed adhesive everywhere. Ugh. The rest went smoothly.

Re: Lightweight, Removable Bug Screens

Chotu, we just got very reasonably priced stainless press fitttings from Sailrite for our exterior sun screens.
They look sturdy and should last a very long time even in uv exposed areas.

Look at their Snap-Rite fasteners (they have tons of others as well.)
