Re: Long term steel boat cruisers - what would you change on a major refit?

Oh as a Post Scriptum, when audio gauging we have experienced some WAY inaccurate readings due to gradual accumulation of fine metal granule flaking that fools the machines......ACCESS is key to clean accurate readings for your maintenace program! Happy reno Work!

Re: Long term steel boat cruisers - what would you change on a major refit?

It's very important in a steel boat that the internal fitout is bolted or screwed together . The weak point in a steel hull is the inside. Steel rusts from the inside out. You need to be able to get to it. I had a boat beautifully fitted out by a carpenter but to get to the rust we had to destroy the inside. Every single joint was glued and screwed.Turned a big refit into a huge one...

Docked in Long Pond, Conception Bay South. We should have had this conversation a few weeks earlier, I stopped in Twillingate to refuel and wait out a storm on the way south. Pm me if you want to chat so we don't derail this thread.

I have made a public album "Nekeyah Metalwork" so that you can see what I am doing,
But I have no idea how you can access it!

Regards,
Richard.
