louvered cabinet doors

I have a 1979 Islander 32 with nice wood interior. Some cabinet doors are louvered and some are ratan inserts. I am looking for a source to get new interior louvered cabinet doors. Any suggestons are appreciated.

These guys will supposedly make anything you can think of out of teak. [http://www.thaiteakmarine.com] Thai Teak Marine Yacht Fittings and Woodwork

Other than that, any cabinet shop worth it's name can make louvered doors. Price probably won't be cheap, however.

Re: louvered cabinet doors

depends on the wood--is your interior teak?? if it is--just refinish it.
if is veneer, replace it with what you want. i think is teak, as a friend had a 1979 islander 32 when i bought his 1977 islander 26..both had teak inside--not just small amounts.
my louvered doors are teak and also varnished--i hate varnish on teak and i dislike varnish inside--i much prefer oiled interiors--much easier to maintain.

It's all a question of taste .

I hate varnishing , but nonetheless like the look of it, within reason! - especially down below.

IME as long as the wood does not get damaged or wet (from leaks) then an interior re-varnish is a 20 year event....maintanence is the occassional polish, every year or 3 ........well, it is if you are happy with "character" rather than showroom fresh .
