Re: MarinAire AC Units

Rhetorical Question? The unit was bonded appropriately on installation. Now looking at Webasto FCF reverse air.... anyone with input here?

Re: MarinAire AC Units

I have two Marinaire 15,000btu units and they have worked well for 5 years and are running as I write. Never needed maintenance and still with the original fill of gas.

I met the owner of the company and he seemed a very competent honest man.

He uses the best components but they are assembled in China, perhaps quality has fallen off since I bought my units.

Re: MarinAire AC Units

I bought a 6,000 btu unit this year. Tried to post a review on their site. They screen them. Here’s my issues. 6/25 1st time we installed transformer was defective. 2nd time defective mother board. Will be asking for labor reimbursement.
7/23 follow up with Dennis @ Marinaire: My claim for $507 denied. So why did parts go out N/C? Said, "Warranty does NOT cover labor or shipping". They paid shipping. Furthermore, Dennis blamed issues on my contractor's negligence. Then said..."As a matter of fact , we offered you that we would fix it free of charge if you shipped the unit back to us". Why the hell would I want to pay exit costs then reinstallation when it originally cost $425 to install? Dennis said, "the time to replace a transformer is about 10 minutes, replace a circuit board is about 20 minutes job. 5 hours labor is not realistic". Dennis didn't take into account trouble shooting, taking units in and out, travel, etc. In closing, my contractor said "it would be a nonissue had he bought unit from local supplier". He only buys from suppliers that back him on their products. Buyer beware!

Too bad you didn't read my review. Flagship marine is the way to go.
They do not have PCB's. All the parts are able to be purchased on amazon if you need them.

Had a 6,000 btu unit installed in June 2018. Nothing but issues. Tried to update my review on their website. Was denied. No wonder they have so many 5 star reviews. 6/25 1st time we installed transformer was defective. 2nd time defective mother board. Will be asking for labor reimbursement.

And this is the main reason that I wrote off any AC with a warranty that required shipping the unit back to the factory. Sure some of them might be really good quality but if you happen to get one with a problem it would be a big pain in the posterior and somewhat expensive to remove the unit, pack it and ship it across the country for repairs.
