Mesh window covers

We are looking to get mesh covers for our front windows. The stuff that looks like shade cloth. What I'm interested in is feedback on colour choice. Black would look better but some have said White keeps the heat out. Does the colour change the amount you can see out? Does the black last longer show less dirt? Opinions? The windows are large curved acrylic on our Fountaine Pajot Lipari.

Re: Mesh window covers

I think what you're talking about is "Breezeway", and it comes in a couple of weights. It is PVC cloth. The black will be more see-through in the daytime. The white will reflect more heat. You'll have to decide which will serve you better, but for Qld. and north, I'd choose the white and take the less visibility hit. You can always remove it when you're sailing.

Ann, who has a white breezeway hatch cover.

Cheers.
