Talking Miami / South Florida - Stores for equipment Refit

Hello Gents!

Im heading to Miami next week willing to buy some gear for my 1965 Sparkman & Stephens, Im on the very final stage of refit. Im looking manly for a Autopilot, (I like the idea of Raymarine EV-100) , some deck hardware and some other general stuff.

In your opinion what are the best stores to visit, is there an marine outlet ? used parts etc..

Thank you very much!

Looking forward to this since Im going all the way from Brazil,

Thank yoU!!

When I was living aboard in Miami most of my boat money went to Hopkins Carter. I just purchased some Groco seacock backing blocks from them a few months ago. They have great service, prices, and I had it fast. A+.

A bit North of there in Ft. Pierce is a place called Marine Liquidators. Huge.

Thanks for the kind words guys! Now I have to try to live up to them.
Diegomaio, please do stop in. I'm not very knowledgeable on electronics, but if you know what you want, I can usually quote a pretty good price.

Email me your list and I'll be glad to quote you. If I don't have what you need, I can get it and have it waiting for you.

This is a truly entertaining all-day fun spot. Stoneage Antiques the Nautical Place Stone Age Antiques has old marine stuff parted out like from a ship dismantler. You just didn't know how much you needed this stuff before you saw it. Something here for everyone. Follow the link & take the tour.

Stoneage - Great place. I try to avoid it because I always buy something I don't need.
I once bought a civil war canon shell from Stone. I think it's still loaded with powder! It's hard for me to avoid Stoneage as it's right around the corner from my store.

If you do go to Sailorman take a Defender or WM catalog with you. Some of their used stuff is priced higher than what new stuff costs.

Another one for HopCar.

Parks is great to deal with and as he said, if he does not have it he'll get it with a very competitive price.
...Not related, just a satisfied customer.

Diego, have a safe passage from Brazil... are you using the ship that goes at 500 knots or the that does 6?

Well per know still in the preparation phase to set sail. Im dreaming with the day Ill be able to reach Florida waters on my boat.

I live in South brazil, final stages of studies and prepararions , in 2-3 months i should be sailing. Ill make a proper post and introduce you the old lady Unforgettable, she just reached 50 years but had a full refit, new mast, sails new interior, instruments, winches, dinghie.

Fair winds to all !
