Need Help Selecting a Tropical Bottom Paint

I'm from the PNW and need advice on tropical bottom paint. I think I want a hard finish because the boat will be trucked to the East coast. Will be heading to the Carib.. Thank You All...Michael..

Re: Need help selecting a tropical bottom paint

If you wait until the Carib for the paint, you will have some choices that aren't available in the US and are widely used for the Carib fouling conditions.

Re: Need help selecting a tropical bottom paint

We coated with VIVID after consultations with both Petit and Interlux sales tech guys. Concerns were fresh water followed by salt water with a few winter storages on the hard inbetween. Anyone have experience with VIVID in the tropics?

Might want to coat in Florida before you launch. Trucking often rubs the paint off where the pads are located.. kinda like a vibrator sander and fine paper going on for a week! Also just an FYI: take charge of all protection..... and of your mast especially. I had one wrapped in carpet that still got a hole rubbed through the aluminum from San diego to Seattle!
