Need Recommendations

Hello all,

I am looking for some recent experiences people have had with boat yards on the Chesapeake. I am looking to have my decks redone and a lot of other work on my boat but am wary to go with the first yard we get a quote at.

Has anyone had a extensive project done recently that could recommend a facility? We just moved the boat to Georgetown Yacht Basin on the sassafras but a few other boaters said beware because there is some instability at the marina right now...

I am looking to have my teak deck taken up and new nonskid put down which is the biggest project. I have a pretty long list as what i need done to get her ready for January and am in kind of a time crunch to find a yard I can trust.

I don't have the time to "keep an eye on them" while the work is being done like some of the other guests recommended so i'm a little wary of using GYB.

Anyone have any recommendations from recent service they have had done?

The best "value" is going to be yards in Deltaville, VA where the per hour labor rate is significantly lower than farther north for the same quality work. I'm from Annapolis and most folks I know who are doing a refit and are not willing to pay Annapolis prices head down there. I did a minor refit there three years ago (at a yard that is no longer there) and was pleased with the work.
