need waterproof electrical quick-connects

Where can I order in-line electrical units for my older AirX wind generator? The only place I can mount it is on the mizzen boom gallows, so need to be able to disconnect the top half for sailing or emergencies.

Re: need waterproof electrical quick-connects

I ordered some on eBay.. I haven't used them on a boat, but used them plenty on ATV. They have survived 2 years of mud bogging with no issues.

Just search "waterproof connector" on eBay.

Re: need waterproof electrical quick-connects

I just checked ebay Philippines and realize I need to add that I need ones that come with some sort of waterproof cap for the remaining connector, when I remove the top half. Will do some more checking elsewhere but would appreciate anyone's advice for how they have dealt with this. I could make some sort of sealed junction box but think that the salt air/condensation would still affect the standing part inside. Thanks again, though. Never used ebay before...maybe the U.S. ebay will have more to offer.

Re: need waterproof electrical quick-connects

Here is what i would do. I would buy the connectors i suggested, they come in 10 packs. Then take one of the extra connectors and fill the holes where the wire would enter with 4200. You now have a waterproof cap.

As to ebay. I buy 20-30 items a month from all over the world (mostly China). Never have any issues.

"Bullet Connectors" used in the automotive industry are great. Have some that are 30 years old on my good old Jeep and still in great shape and seal well. Don't know why you don't see these more in marine allocations.
