NEEDED - Some ideas adding weight too level boat

Boat is a twin engine 30 ft power cruiser
Apx 350 lbs of non working equipment , generator , refrigerator was
removed , from port side
Recently boat was in shop for engine removal and had access too get too generator
Generator needs total rebuild
Shop re-installed port engine minus generator .
Never used generator.
I was hoping too eliminate the 250 lbs of weight from boat
I was concerned about weight distribution.
Prior too generator / refrigerator removal boat leaned starboard due
un balanced equipment installed by manufacturer
Now I am faced with a leaning boat , so much of a lean the marina
called me thinking boat was taking on water
Installed 350 lbs of flat patio blocks , were generator sat ,
Boat is now level
I might be forced too purchase another generator but hate too do it
What can I put there that will look good , ??
Lithium batteries ? costly , heavy , few batteries few grand , might
as well purchase a gen set ,
LEAD , spread , called a lead company with shipping 2 grand
Lots of anchors ??
Cant move any equipment, cant get too anything ,
Fuel & fresh water centered under floor
Only weight on starboard is 2 - batteries , 6 gallon hot water tank ,
waste tank , but that cant be moved , nothing else too move from
starboard too port
I was talking too a retired boat builder at West Marine
He said he used too work at Luhrs , he said they spread out lead
too balance the boats guess he had the ability too do this at yard with proper heat etc ,
ANY IDEAS ??

Re: NEEDED - Some ideas adding weight too level boat

Wow! Someone can have a lot of fun with how to add weight to your boat. There will be pictures of hot babes in swimsuits, bad jokes about inviting your wife's overweight sister on board and telling her where to stand, suggestions about moving the beer cooler to that side of the boat.

Let's see what develops.

Tanks for necessities like rum and Tequila? Another refrigerator for limes and beer?

If you have no need for a gen and don’t want to buy a new one, put the old one back in?

Why not just get someone in the hole to encapsulate the patio pavers with some polyester resin and glass cloth. If you or a future owner wants the generator back, just grind out the encapsulating layer and remove the pavers.

Did someone really suggest lead or concrete blocks

How about either an extra water or fuel tank, which at least will be useful.

Does the boat lean whist underway? probably not but worth asking.

Re: NEEDED - Some ideas adding weight too level boat

If the void is next to the engine, why not ditch the little 6gal water heater and put a nice big heater with another fresh water tank back there, heater plumbed to the engine for heat exchange with an electric element as backup? At least it would reduce the number of pavers and add several minutes to the hot shower you'll need after swaging huge chunks of concrete into a little hole somewhere.

by any means … dont just make the boat haevy without any sense.

tankage is good. even if Always full.. a back up for the back up.
or store heavy Tools and parts there.
install something heavy on deck (also not as good) … solar, wind gen, etc

.. I love the idea of the mother in law … LOL

Re: NEEDED - Some ideas adding weight too level boat

Add a big domestic battery bank and inverter where the genny sat to balance the boat. This then gives you an electric supply without the need to run the engines to power your fridge and/or freezer, lights, TV etc without any noise on anchor. With the inverter you can even run 120/220v applicances or charge laptops etc (I use a basic semi sine wave to charge my Mac from the batteries).

Add some solar panels and you can keep the batteries topped up without having to use the engines. Saving the fuel for purely locomotive use.

Alternatively, look at moving 175lbs from Port to Starboard and keep the boat 350lbs lighter which will also improve performance and reduce fuel use.
