New Edson Quest Pedestal (vs Vision II)

Edson has released a new pedestal with the moniker "Quest". https://edsonmarine.com/quest/

I was intending on purchasing a new pedestal and was eying the Vision II pedestal. My main goals were to switch to single lever engine controls and have a nice clean spot for a chart plotter. https://edsonmarine.com/vision-ii-se...tapered-shaft/

At first I was a little disappointed, as it seems like losing the grab bar is a loss, I'm sure there are still dealers with stock of the vision II. However after thinking about it some, the Quest has some distinct advantages:

- Enough room for a larger chart plotter and a couple of instruments.
- The viewing angle of the screen means you can't see it sitting down, but you also don't have to reach through or around the wheel to use it.
- It's cheaper

How is one supposed to easily reach that throttle control on the quest pedestal? Seems awkward.

Yea, I always thought it was a little inconvenient but it’s been that way forever. You do not have to have the throttle in the pedestal. If you have a better spot you could move it.

I have a center cockpit, the pedestal is the best place for me. Not such a big deal when cruising, but easy access to throttle controls are critical in tight marinas. It's one of my main reasons to switch to single lever controls - managing two levers (forward/reverse and throttle) and steering can get a bit harrowing in some docking situations.
