Old Navigator or Tactical instrument

This is my first time posting on Cruisers forum and my first cruiser.
Our 1980 Roberts design 38’ Ketch has a SILVA 2200 tactical instrument installed. It even seems to have a depth transponder attached. That said it’s a legacy instrument that is probably as old as the boat. We would like to know how to make it work for us but it has defied our best efforts to get to know it. Occasionally it sets off an alarm much to the anxiety of those on board. It has 3 buttons and a LCD display that all function and feel right when we press them.
Has anyone got an instruction manual or a web address for us?
Thnx

the boat I just bought is equipped with old Silva 2200, 3200, 4000 .... parts on hand. also has the NX2 depth transducer that fits the old thruhull.

Here is a manual in Swedish (You can get Google to Translate it: see below)

You can use this site to translate the manual from Swedish into English.

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Andrew.

Operating Instructions for Silva 2200 Speed Log (not very helpful)

I believe that Silva is now Nexus Marine by Garmin.

There's probably an internal battery, which will be dead. See if replacing that will solve your problem(s).

Re: Old Navigator or Tactical instrument

Thanks GordMay and coopec43. I will take some time reading the manual tonight and deciding if I commit the unit to the Maritime museum showcase while plugging its hole in my cockpit wall.

Re: Old Navigator or Tactical instrument

Our '84 Cape Dory was raced at one time and still has the tactical instruments. They still work, but we never use them. When they die, I'll remove them.

So, unless you plan to race your boat, why bother repairing it?

Good luck

Thanks Chris777 , the google translator has done a surprisingly good job.
I will replace the internal battery first then muck around until it clicks!
