Opinions on Foss Foam in FL ?

I am considering having a replacement rudder built by Foss Foam in FL, and was wondering if anyone has had experience with them and can recommend (or discourage) the use of their service.

Thanks,
-S

Foss Foam has had a good reputation, for quite a long time.
Good luck.

You might want to take a look at http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...s-21462-3.html and in particular post #39 and beyond before deciding to deal with that Company. You might also want to Google "Foss Foam"+"Problems".

FWIW...

Based on HyLyte’s personal experienced opinion; I Googled "Foss Foam"+"Problems"; and certainly wouldn’t retract my favourable opinion, based upon the first 20 returns.
For the most part, the content was positive.

Thanks for the info. I've been doing some researching, and undoubtably svHyLyte had a bad experience with them. I see that some others have too.
However it would appear that they make a large number of rudders, so to give them the benefit of the doubt I'd have to hope that there are many people who have had a good experience with them.
If there's anyone who has had direct experience with them either positive or negative I'd be very interested to hear it.

Thanks again.

Two excellent builders of rudders you might want to get a quote from are... Phil's Foils (Competition Composites Inc.) and IdaSailor Marine (IdaSailor Marine)

Re: Opinions on Foss Foam in FL ?

Bringing up an old thread. My rudder is oozing brown goo so I need to fix or replace it. Foss Foam in florida has the mold for my rudder and their foam is supposed to be the deal. Does anyone have a rudder from them if so, are you happy with it?

Foss Foam just built a rudder for me in July. That were awesome. Nothing but good things to say about them. Two weeks from order to ship. Fit great, Al communicated great. I give them a huge thumbs up!
