Oxalic Acid and Dinghy

Has anyone used a diluted mix of water and oxalic on a hypalon dinghy? I use this mix often to clean just about everything but have never use it on hypalon.

Re: Oxalic Acid and Dinghy

I have used oxalic acid as well, on many surfaces, and to clean rusty tools in the shed. Hehehe, tools on the boat are all good.
However on Hypalon? If you have a Hypalon repair kit and patches, maybe apply the acid to one of these patches and try it out. Of course, damage might only visible after long sun exposure and not evident for months or years.
Just googled and found that Hypalon of this manufacturer rates oxalic acid as having a very good resistance: https://www.kelco.com.au/wp-content/...lity-guide.pdf

Don't do it, it will damage it in the long run, someone who had a Caribe C10 for 8 years , for difficult stains I use a degreaser and generally soap and water, the best investment is a sun cover. My 2 cents.
