Paint the Centerboard?

I just bought a Kelt 7.60 (27') with an iron keel and swing centerboard. I painted the bottom. Maybe a dumb question but should I lower and paint the centerboard?

I agree, the answer is yes. The centerboard will also attract critters where it comes in contact with saltwater. Once the things attach you'll have a hard time lowering and raising your board.

You also need to coat the inside of the centerboard well as well. If you don't you will have growth in the well.
