We used to paint our anchors bright yellow. Living aboard full time on the hook paint used to last about two years when prepped well. Galvanising was for corrosion, paint was so we could see the anchor easily and we liked it. Here in SE Alaska we haven't seen water clear enough to view the anchor in years, and also haven't bothered with paint.

well, if you look at the testing by Panope, the CQR rates ahead of the Rocna, and is equal to most of the modern anchors in holding power in "good" bottoms and fails only in the "marginal" (cobble/rock and very soft mud) bottoms. But don't let the testing convince you, keep the bias
