Paste wax over buffing compound

I just finished buffing/polishing the hull and want to put a coat of paste wax over it. I see differing opinions i.e "Carnauba is good", Carnauba is not good", "look for UV protection", "look for insulator wax".

Help?

If you have come HERE looking for a single definitive answer, you will be sadly disappointed...

But, definitely it is more important to wax than to pick EXACTLY the best one.

We use a product called "Woody Wax" Works great even on textured nonskid to release dirt. Even dried fish blood just rinses off--for months.

It's really easy to apply, and does a great job. On our anodized aluminum arch, we can see exactly how high Karen can reach. After 4 years, everything she can reach looks new, above that is showing signs of pitting. Pretty much everything made of fiberglass or metal on our boat above the water line has a chat with "Woody" at least once a year.
