It seems like relying on old fuel after all that would be a big mistake, you may not even know if that's why it won't fire up. Unless you are dirt poor it seems simple enough to drain and replace, no?

when we bought our boat, it sat for 3 years during a rehab extended due to some surgeries on my shoulder. Cranked right up when we splashed her. If you're doing other work, make up a fuel polisher and sleep well...
