Plastic ribs for wooden sailing vessels

I have seen lots of articles but none give where what exactly they are made of and who Manufactures them , Any help?

Redwood Plastics make “Redco™” Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW), used for Boat Ribs.

Would you trust the polyethylene to behave like real grown timber?

Is there anyone out there who has used this or a similar product for a repair? If so, could you please evaluate it for us?

Check out Louis Sauzedde Wooden Boat #239 or just go line and he will pop up if wood boat repair prompts are used. Dovekie
