If we're back to small compartments, (not flooding conditions,) then just get one of these for each compartment, (use a strainer).
Be happy, no back flow, and no big deal for several feet of discharge hose.
Edit, NO, I was not kidding at all about the Edson pump.

31 posts and I still haven't figured out what the OP wants to get out of this, other than displaying his vain attitude as shown in some of the posts.
Looks like he has answered his own question a few times. Over and out for me.

From the very first post
"BUT I was kinda hoping there would already be a comparable off-the-shelf product as the Whale with a centrifuge pump instead of a diaphram pump"

And you bet I'm vain about the boat I've spent more than 5 years and over $100k rebuilding
Have you ever done that?

+1 on the backflow issue-- centrifugal pumps will not push out the water between them and the outlet no matter how long you let them run and as soon as they shut down you get backflow which then triggers another run cycle ad infinitum-- i was stubborn and tried it anyway on a project- it failed miserably. unless you have vast amounts of water to move a whale pump should handle this just fine- it only needs to be able to move as much water as your freshwater supply pump to drain shower etc right?

Re: Plumbing pump suggestions?

Hello! Your search for a marine-grade inline pump with automatic flow control to manage the drainage of various compartments suggests that you have a specific plumbing layout for your boat in mind. Given your need for capacity and lack of concern for self-priming, I appreciate your decision for a centrifugal pump over a diaphragm pump. Research several brands, speak with marine suppliers, and consult a marine plumber. Remember to explain why you need a marine-grade centrifugal pump with an integrated flow switch to the suppliers or licenced plumber you contact. They'll be able to provide detailed options and assist you in determining which arrangement is ideal for your boat.
