Polysulfide and ABS

I had a leak which needed repair. Hawse pipe. The bronze fitting was not available and I needed to make the repair. I found (what looks like an ABS exhaust thru hull and effected the repair. I had lifecaulk which is a polysulfide around and just caulked it with that. Worked great although I do know Polysulfide and ABS "Are not compatible." Now with a drum roll is the question "How long will an ABS fitting last before the lifecaulk eats it away , if at all." Does anyone have experience with the two? I plan on fabbing the bronze fitting but it will take 2 - 3 months to get it and another month to get it fitted.
