Planning to add a cordless impact driver to be able to change waterpump gears but that will be the last thing.

Re: Power Tools

I like the Black & Decker Matrix system - interchangeable heads on a single tool. Not professional grade, but ok for most jobs.
Battery life is pretty good

Re: Power Tools

May I suggest you look at all the DC-DC converter units on EB, mostly Boost Up for our case. This wil enable you to use battery powered hand tools with the onboard available 12 (or 24) Volt. The units are cheap and output voltage can be adjusted by turning a pot shaft to get the desired voltage. The feed wire to an onboard 12V plug can not be a major obstacle on a boat.

Re: Power Tools

I started off with cordless tools, but am now rethinking that, they are often way more expensive and often less powerful, but with a large inverter and a generator, why do you need cordless?
My Milwaukee cordless circular saw for example, excellent tool but big $$$, and very rarely used, probably been better off with a much less expensive corded one.
Even my Dremel is corded now.

Convenience for the most part but not everyone out there has a generator or a big enough inverter to handle some of them and I like being able to lend a hand when I can. Besides, I absolutely hate dealing with extension cords. Dragging them out and dealing with putting them away seems to double the time to do a job for me, yes I'm exaggerating but it is so much nicer to just pull a tool out of the box and get to work.

Totally forgot about the dremel, super nice piece of kit to have. One more to the list, A Ken Onion Workshark knife sharpener. Way faster than a whetstone and my knives have never been sharper.
