Prop noise

Just launched after doing the bottom. I painted the prop and shaft with bottom paint instead of the Pettit spray paint I have used in the past. At an engine speed off about 1200-1500 rpm I get a lot of noise. It sounds more like turbulence rather than mechanical. It goes away under and over that speed. Could the bottom paint on the prop cause cavitation? A noise I haven't heard before.
