Re: pump leaking

I hate banjo fittings and anything with the name Lucas on it. I used to own an MGB.
All of the contact surfaces on the banjo fitting have to be flat, clean and scratch free.
Use the correct washers. Don't just grab some from the hardware store.

Re: Pump leaking

I tried repeatedly to repair a leak at a banjo fitting once only to find out when the light was just so that there was a tiny stream coming from another fitting and hitting the one I was trying to repair
If you think this might be the case use a piece of paper to check not your hand it will inject fuel into your hand

Re: Pump leaking

To throw another problem they can be work hardened, but a propane torch can be used to anneal them back to the soft state where they can seal, best to use new of course if you can get them

Re: Pump leaking

Another source of leak is the bronze solder joint where banjo fitting goes on pipe. If redoing ,clean well and get the angles right so you don't have to torque the tube. You have figured out you need copper washers, eh?
