That includes:
  • Radar and other electronics.
  • Solar panels and controllers
  • Watermaker
  • Glass fibre
  • Resin
  • Lithium batteries and their BMS
  • and of course more....

Anyone can recommend one or more chandler that can sell and send me tax free goods while I am still in Europe?

Thanks in advance!!
Malta - start with Gauci Borda, but then for specific brands every agency is there. You can then sail to Tunisia for the labour, but suggest rather than straight across, you go via Pantelleria.

I would contact Osprey Technical in the UK. They do high quality systems work all over Europe. There is Diverse Yachts as well, also in the UK.

Don't know any good chandlers (even though I lived in Italy before we set off) but I can vouch for a hell of a good refit guy here in Mallorca. He's German with the German work ethic, and charges half what they wanted anywhere else I looked to get my work done in the EU. I'm dropping the boat to him tomorrow morning as a matter of fact. Mallorca Yacht Concepts, Peter Kuklok.... one amazing dude, might be worth checking out if you're not committed to Tunisia....

Thank you, I visited their webpage, they list what they have, but no prices.....
I have written to them re purchasing Tax Free, will post what they reply.

--------------
OceanPlanet, thanks.
Osprey Technical seem to be geared up for Superyacht electronic systems.
Diverse Yachts seemed a chandler, but I found very few items, for instance a search for 'Rocna' or for just 'anchor' both had 0 results. While 'Garmin' gave me a list of newsletters. Elsewhere they say that they will quote on a list of items, so I might check them that way...

--------------
Sojourner, thank you as well, but Mallorca is a bit out of my way, plus I want to do most of my work myself.

So, my search for a good chandler continues......

For electronics, I would contact Hudson Marine on the Hamble. I used them when buying a Raymarine auto pilot recently. Very helpful and at the time had the best UK prices. They were also helpful enough to talk me through the installation process and offered advice if I got stuck. Looks like they do international shipping.

Pete7, thank you.
Contacted Hudson Marine. They cannot sell VAT free, but can supply a form to claim VAT back.
However, they only sell electronics.

So, after all, I found a 'Defender' alternative in Germany, that are called SVB, website www.svb24.com.

They sell from Anchor to Zink anodes and everything in the middle.
Fast cheap shipping worldwide, tax free for shipping outside Europe.
Bundle order discounts.... You just cannot adk for more.....

Re: Recommend a chandler in Europe please

As for German chandlers: SVB has been mentioned, another one is awn https://www.awn24.co.uk/ Marine ply could be https://sommerfeld-thiele.de/ traditional stuff at https://www.toplicht.de/ . Higher volumes of resins and fibre reinforcements etc. could be http://www.bootsservice-behnke.de/

As for prices in international comparison, I am sorry, I can not help. It is sometimes amazing how cheap stuff is in the USA ...

Great stuff guys!!

From a first look, AWN seem cheaper than SVB, same service and variety of goods.
I'll check the others soon.... late night here....
