Refinish Hatch Doors

Time to redo all the brightwork on my boat. I'm going to start with the main hatch doors - even though they are not the worst.

From what I've read, a scrapper and a heat gun are the tools to start with. Any suggestions for getting the varnish off the louvre pieces?

Personally I prefer zip strip for it all. heat guns can cause damage to the wood.
Zip strip just brush it on and hose it off . EPA accepted.
