Re: Refit Seattle area

There are lots of full size shops like Yachtmasters and Emerald marine, full service yards all over CSY, Seaview, as well as well as lots of indepentdants. Quality and skill level in general are very high. I would be leary taking the reccomendation of any single source. Alot will depend on your budget and time frame. Pretty much anybody should be able to show you some of there previous work as well as put you in touch with a previous customer. Talk to the yards stop by fisheries supply to look at the business card piles, they are the hub for all things marine and pretty much everyone big and small are constantly going through for supplies.
For a semi do it yourself project Canal boatyard is one of the last in Seattle proper, PT is a great hub for all things do it yourslef as well as lots of trades. If geography is not too tight BC is a good option. Very favorable exchange rates and Sydney and Victoria are not that far away. We hauled at Vector Yachtes in Sydney last fall and were very happy with the yard and the work we had them do.

You may want to consider Marine Servicenter in Anacortes. In particular, you may want to look at their custom projects page (http://www.marinesc.com/yard/custom-projects) and check out the Cal 43 refit. That was an impressive project, took it down to the bones and redid it completely. The owner Jim Rard is extremely knowledgable and a great guy as well.

Not affiliated with them in any way, just a satisfied customer.
