refitting refer - magnetic seal

working on the refer top was wondering about magnetic tape to seal the top loading refer. does magnetic tape come with a bottom tape or do I use a flat metal bar on one side also will the magnet go thru a thin layer of west system resin or a light layer of fiberglass
Thanks
Rock

refitting refer - magnetic seal

Never thought of it as the weight will cause a seal.
But I’m pretty sure that house fridges that use magnetic seals have a magnet in the seal that sticks to the steel part of the fridge.
I’m interested, if you do it, would you mind taking a few pictures and reporting your results?
Magnetic attraction is greatly affected by distance, except for the distance, I don’t believe a thin layer of Epoxy will matter.
