Repairing damaged screw holes

Hi All,
as always there is something to repair on a boat. Recently I undertook the challenge of resolving once and for all an annoying leak on my port rail. Rain or wash water would leak inside the hull just behind galley storage. Nothing serious, annoying nonetheless. Task involved removing the aluminium gunnel rail on the port side, drilling out all the holes to oversize and then filling with International Epifill. Gouging out the sloppily applied sealant on the hull/deck join was also completed.
I though I would share with you a very natty way of filling the oversize holes without all the usual mess when using such fillers.
Even though this filler is reasonably think when mixed, a simple Horse Syringe does the trick nicely. I cut the nozzle of the syringe to make the hole a little bigger though not so much as to loose the length required to get into the holes. Use a syringe with a big central nozzle not one with a much smaller nozzle.
Once the prep work was completed, each hole was filled in about 10 seconds and left to cure. Minimal sanding, no mess and you can actually use the syringe multiple times though at $4 each, its hardly worth the effort of cleaning.
Happy maintenance.
