Replacement windows

Have a 1988 Capital Yachts Gulf 27 pilothouse and am wanting to replace fiberglass/plastic windows, (sliders). Have had no luck finding a good replacement. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Replacement windows

Is the situation that the tracks are good but the sliding panels are toast? If so, consider using the old panels as patterns and make your own. A bench mounted sander for shaping edges and a drill press to ease a dull drill bit through acrylic without cracking it are close to necessary. Consider the possibility of converting to polycarbonate (Lexan). It's softer and scratches easily, but is much stronger than acrylic (plexiglass). Polycarbonate sheet will bend in half before it cracks.

Re: Replacement windows

Mark Plastics in Corona California makes replacements for many of the boats from Capital Yachts. If you call him they are usually good about providing the info you'll need.
