Resealing portlights

Hello,

I want to reseal the fixed portlights on columbia 9.6.

Originaly the are fixed from the inside in that order : Outside, fiberglass, plywood, some crazy strong silicon, acrylic fixed by silicon and screws.

when i took them off the plywood was wet and not yeat rotten ( at least what i have seen)

I dont realy want to change the place of the acrylic ( it was proposed to mouve them outside and bolt them true the fiberglass with butyl as sealant , but we had one problem, because we need a frame ( aluminium ? ) to hold them in place with out cracking.

so the idea is to add a fiberglass or just epoxy on the plywoodand then apply butyl between the new fiberglass( or epoxy) lip and the acrylic.

The new order will be : Outside, plywood, fiberglass or epoxy, butyl, acrylic hold in place by screws.

Is it worth to replace the original design ? Will it limit the leaks and hold for long time ?

If no, i was thinking : outside, plywood , dow corning 795 , acrylic with screws
