Rub Rail Sourcing?

Suggestions for sourcing rub/toe rail for a Pearson 33? It's rigid plastic that is integrated with the teak toe rail (removable). TIA.

Try TACO Marine. They have a lot of profiles. Google search to fine their website.

Re: Rub Rail Sourcing?

Djousset,

I have found the best prices & selection is with Alan Ray of Rubrails.com. He is in Ft Lauderdale but can ship anywhere. He found the exact rubrail for my boat replacing wood with plastic.

Alan is extremely knowledgeable & helpful.

Re: Rub Rail Sourcing?

Thanks for the suggestions. I have found some in New England but may need to purchase an entire length, much more than I need. If anyone is interested in a segment let me know.

Re: Rub Rail Sourcing?

Some unsolicited advice - my most valuable tool for installing the rub rail (other than a really warm day) is a flat bamboo spatula. They are super cheap and hardy and do not tear the rubrail like a screw driver. I picked mine up for just a few bucks at someplace like Marshalls or Ross...
They look kinda like this:

I've used one of those rollers for installing screens in windows, or a large washer in the middle of a long bolt to use as a roller/pushing device to get the second lip in, it can be quite difficult if cold

Re: Rub Rail Sourcing?

I use a soft mallet to gently bang in the rub rail. And a hair dryer to soften it up a bit on colder days.

Re: Rub Rail Sourcing?

Appreciate the spatula/roller/mallet and hairdryer tips. This will be a splice on the port bow in warmer spring 2023 weather. Hopefully not a tremendous amount of bend needed.
