I most certainly wouldn't want your boat penned anywhere near mine. If your boat did burst into flames and damage other boats in the marina you would no doubt be sued for negligence!

In Australia I would have to get a qualified (ticketed) tradesman to do the installation. That person would provide a certificate to say the installation was done according to regulations and most marinas in Australia would require that certificate be produced before the vessel could be penned.

It's funny, you say that with pride.
You mean " in Australia we are super over regulated with somebody looking over your shoulder every minute, snapping fingers for for pieces of paper and a license" and damned ready to fine you if you dont.
I am pretty sure that the electrical leads need to be tested and tagged every few months too, right?
I know this sounds critical, but it's not meant that way, it's just hard to hear you guys being so proud of the over regulation that is forced upon you by your overlords at such an immense cost.
You would not believe how nice it is to live differently. After 25 odd years the australian indoctrination still rears it's ugly head in my mind......only to be beaten down by my love of freedom.
Travel. See somewhere different. Come to the US!
See guys in the back of pickups driving down the road.......see an adult riding a bike without a helmet...see a car drive down the road with a patch of rust in it....go to a marina and not have to supply comfirmation certificates, drive past a police radar unit 10 MILE over the speed limit and not get a $200 fine.
I could go on....and on......and on.......well you get the idea.
Seriously. Come see freedom.

In Australia we have strict gun laws too and drivers are required to wear seat belts!

Sadly it is all about what value we put on a life. (Just look at the statistics)

The US of A has ten times the number of gun related deaths per 100K than Australia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ted_death_rate

Deaths from opiate use.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...of_opiates_use

Deaths by road accident (The US of A is double Australia's)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ted_death_rate

I suppose all that relates to life expectancy. See where Australia ranks compared to the US of A.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ife_expectancy

I could go on........!!!

Well here is another lovely graphic. Pretty colours? (I bet you want a colouring-in book for Christmas?)

And guess where the US of A comes.....?
