Seastar helm

we are in the process of replacing the steering system on a 32' cruising cat. planning to fit a seastar hydraulic system

However it seems the seastar helm has a 'non-feed back' feature, which while great to remove the torque affect of large outboards etc, will mean that the existing auto pilot will not work

Has anyone any experience of removing this 'non-feed back' function from the seastar helm ?

thanks !

cheers,

Re: Seastar helm

many thanks gord

I have spoken to marc at seastar however unfortunately company policy seems to restrict the advice he can give in this area

Got the impression that it was not something that could not be / was not done...he just was not allowed to tell me how to do it

Bit like going to an auto manufacturer and asking how to remove the speed limiter on your car...

cheers,
