Seaweed matresses

Hi, guys and gals,

Once upon a time I owned a boat that had mattresses made of seaweed. I loved them much and think they are the most suitable for marine environment. Online research turned no meaningful results.
Are they still available anywhere in the world? Any tips on that?

Thanks

Re: Seaweed matresses

Seaweed is famous for it's weather forecasting properties, as it soaks up
moisture, an when dry, it can be pretty crunchy, the ocean can be a wet and humid place at times , so if you do go the seaweed route, can I suggest that the mattress cover is sealed and waterproof.....

After a time it may become compacted and hard.....

I have 6" foam cut by the local retailer to size, and it works
brilliantly...Just my 10 cents worth.

Just goes to show how much we have progressed, we used to sleep on it, now we eat it.
