Show us the inside of your cupboards!

I’m trying to work out the best way to divide/layout my cupboards. I’m thinking about vertical dowels to keep plates and suchlike apart, but I’m sure there are as many ways of doing this as there are boats. I have plenty of smallish eye-level cupboards with good strong locks - I’m just trying to find ways to maximise storage and protect the contents in rough weather.

Tillsbury, my heart goes out to you. The cleverest storage I ever saw was where they opened the cupboard, and tried various placings of their items, and when they got in all that they could, they did just as you suggest: sunk dowels to hold the lot in place. Shallow hole cut with hole saw, epoxy dowel in, and carry on.

Ours are not nearly so compact, nor well organized.
