Simrad Halo radar wiring for transom mount.

Was hoping to get someone's opinion on my specific installation.

Scenario:

32ft sailboat
B&G Vulcan MFD is installed on the binnacle at the helm.
Simrad Halo 20+ radar planning on installing on the 8ft pole on transom.
Electrical panel with fuses/breakers is in the cabin midship.


So, the radar has ethernet RJ45 jack and power. Ethernet connects to the MFD via included adapter. Power needs to go to the switch on the panel.

Option A) I run the radar cable (power and ethernet) all the way to the switch panel midship. Then run ethernet back aft to the MFD.

Option B) I run the radar cable (power and ethernet) to the MFD. Connect it to the Vulcan but run the power of the radar to the switch panel.

It comes down to run 15ft power extension or 15ft ethernet extension. Either way one of them will have to be extended.

I am leaning toward Option A but may not be thinking of some issues.

p.s. Manual says power extension wire should be at least 16 AWG for this distance.
