Sink Drains

I need to find a way to transition a sink drain to a 3/4" hose. I was able to do that with the kitchen sink which has a standard size drain. However I can't find one for this drain.

It has a 2" flange and a 1 1/4" diameter tail pipe that's about 4" long.

I can't find the fitting that steps this down to 3/4".

The current set up is a series of cobbled together hoses that end up at 5/8" fitting.

Has anybody run into this before and have a solution?

Re: Sink Drains

The simplest way is usually to replace the drain unit in the sink itself. I had a similar issue with one of mine that was 35mm no idea what the hell the person who installed it was thinking. I was able to just unscrew the drain and install a new one that had a 19mm hosetail on it.

Re: Sink Drains

I've run into this problem all the time. Don't forget there are many PVC reducers too.

When I was renewing the hoses on my Perkins the diesel mechanic told me I wouldn't be able to buy hoses "off the shelf". He suggested I go to an automotive parts outlet and look at all their hoses on the rack to find a piece of hose that goes from 32mm to 28mm. "You might have to buy a 3ft hose to get just the 6 inch that you want" And that's what I did.
