Re: SMELL is killing me! What to do?

What I have done is take all the cushions out to redo them I didn't really find the cushion material anywhere that was half way affordable to we sprayed them with something called, Neutron NI-712. That stuff is pretty amazing. The cushions do not smell anymore so I took it to the boat and sprayed it around. This was 2 weeks ago and I have to go back up and check it out soon. I'm thinking it's a mildew smell if the boat smells good when I do the recheck. Thanks for all the great advice and I still will be checking all the items out and especially the ozone tool.

I was a bit worried about the bleach in an area so small. I did try spraying bleach and water on the walls but whew. That was so strong smelling.

I used an ozone machine daily on the boat in my avatar. Living aboard. Simply turned it off when I got home after work.

Dont mix too strong. I'd say no more than 1/4 teaspoon in a gal. And that's a lot. A tablespoon in 50 gallons of drinking water kills anything bad.

If it's on a boat you don't own yet, is it a walk away situation, or is it easily conquerable?

Buy a bag of BBQ charcoal and fill a few open bowls/buckets etc with it and place throughout your boat, then close it up for a few days. Trick used by used fridge salesmen to absorb mouldy fridge odours. Only takes a few bits in a fridge, used the whole bag in your boat. Bonus, can still bbq with it afterwards!
