soft growth

On CSC in PNW. Will growth slow down with cooler weather less direct sunshine?

Re: soft growth

'cause this year the growth rate has been crazy. Day after a scrub there's patches starting, 6 days later rudder is covered 2cm thick!
This is False Crk., bow in, stern south facing tidally flushed but with very little run-off because drought. Boat is positioned just below the "S" on Burrard Street Bridge.
Apparently out at Jericho the boats at RVYC aren't seeing anywhere near as much growth.

Re: soft growth

How recent is your bottom paint and, mostly out of curiosity, what paint and how much was applied?

Re: soft growth

Different part of the country (and in fresh water), but also Micron CSC on my hull. Not sure if it's just different weather or what, but last year and this year have been far worse for soft growth than the previous few years.

Re: soft growth

Pretty sure the bathtub temp of the water has something to do with it.

00..the CSCmicron is at end of life, though keel was done in '20 so need to ask diver next wk how it faired opposed to rest of hull. Painted by former owner so quantity unknown.
To be fair the guy down the dock with VC ain't doing any better.
