Steel fittings on CAL 34

Hello,

I have a 1968 Cal 34. There are fittings at the bulkhead in the lav that come up through the floor. They are 3/16 in. thick and have 4 large stainless bolts through them attaching them to the bulkhead. There are chain plates high on the bulkhead attached to some of the shrouds. One of the lower fittings is so rusty that I feel I need to replace it. Is anyone familiar with these fittings and or do you know where I might find drawings to make replacements before tearing my boat apart. I can't see them without removing the ice box and galley counter. I'm not sure what they are attached to underneath.

Thanks in advance.

The Cal's of your era had a steel beam under the liner and the tabs you see are simply brackets welded to the beam to anchor the bulkhead. This is one area where almost all the folks that restore a Cal have come to grief. It is not uncommon to find almost nothing left of this beam. It is hidden under the raised area that is at the bottom of the bulkhead and the only way to access it is to cut away the fiberglass box section.
There is a good how-to of the job being done on a Cal 2-29 at this site; Wilkie's Sailboat Page
