Surprising results with a spill-over fridge.

I am now going to go and build a spill-over fridge, its just such an interesting idea and one that is entirely new to me. Then if I ever have to deal with intruders I will throw cold beer cans at them.

You are getting there, but us Aussies would never throw beer at an intruder.

More likely to offer them a cold-one, then if our differences can’t be resolved we just lob drop-bears at each other using our thongs (flip flops to non-Aussies) as launchers.

But yeah, spill-over fridges are great. Apparently you can keep stuff other than beer cold too. Who’d have guessed?

My dad read this and agrees saying you should not throw all that SA Sxxxxxrk beer at the intruders, just make them drink it!!! They would never intrude again, if they survive!!

Good point, I think what I meant to say was throw beer cans TO the intruders. Because I am from New Zealand I do not naturally think as clearly as an Australian.

Well, in a great day for beer drinkers around the world, West End stopped making beer a few weeks back.

Not sure what I will use to clean the drains now though.

Nothing focusses the mind like a kinetic drop bear. And due to the selective breeding that results, the surviving Aussies are quite clear thinkers under pressure.

We drink the beer to stop us thinking too clearly about the state of the world and to stop us wishing we were in NZ.

Re: Surprising results with a spill-over fridge.

You can generally get aluminium trays bent up any size you need at an aluminium welding shop.

I like the metal tray separator idea a lot and if your top loader lid was in two pieces so you were not opening the freezer every time you opened the fridge a think a lot of the ice build up problem would be mitigated.

The Ozefridge folk appear to like innovating.

Yep, I’m certainly going to try the aluminium tray idea before summer.

And when I made the top of my fridge I split the top 70/30 so that I could open just a small section for getting out frequent things like the milk. The only time I open the whole lot is for rummaging in the freezer, usually to transfer stuff from freezer to fridge sections. Two years in to living aboard and the fridge feels like one bit I got right.

Oh, and needless to say... it’s an Ozefridge.

Innovating has to be better for both mind and product .
Far better that dreaming of what used to be.

Re: Surprising results with a spill-over fridge.

It's great to have a fridge which keeps the ice cream solid but one of my priorities on my extant fridge rebuild is not to have to unload the whole damned thing to get at last weeks left overs.
